The cute ones are called Amanita muscaria. They'll getcha. Just days before this trip, a neighbor apparently had a (brief) psychotic episode after eating a batch of wild mushrooms...must've been a funky one in there somewhere, is the theory. Can't say I wasn't worried, but they smelled too good cooking to resist. (The good, lumpy, ugly, spongy-bottomed ones are called Boletus. Mmmm!)
Cool photos, what kind of mushroom, then?
